Adding a form to your website

Send your website’s contact form straight into the Doodali inbox.

Every company has its own website form address. Messages sent to it arrive in the Inbox as enquiries, with an owner and a reply-by time.

  1. Open Settings → Inbox.
  2. Next to Website form, press Copy code for a ready-made form, or Copy form address to point your existing form at Doodali.
  3. Paste it into your website (or send it to whoever looks after your site).

Using your existing form

Set your form’s action to the form address and its method to POST. Doodali recognises the usual field names: name, email, phone, message, and keeps any other fields (budget, service, and so on) alongside the enquiry.

Privacy

Where a form collects people’s details, UK GDPR asks you to tell them who’s getting the details and why. Add your privacy policy’s address in Settings → Inbox → Edit and the ready-made form links to it, with a line saying you’ll use their details to reply. You don’t need a consent tick box just to reply to an enquiry.

If you’d like to send people marketing too, keep the form’s optional “Keep me updated” box: it starts unticked, and whether they ticked it (and when) is saved on the enquiry. Remove those lines if you don’t send marketing.

If someone asks you to delete their details, an admin can delete the enquiry for good from the Inbox, and their contact from the client’s page.

To stop other websites using your form address, add your site’s address to the allowed list in the inbox settings.
