Moving from Trello to Doodali
Trello boards become Doodali project boards. If you kept clients on a board, they can come across as a CSV.
Updated 30 September 2026
1. Export from Trello
- Open the board, then the board menu → Print, export and share.
- Export as CSV (on paid Trello plans) or JSON. If you only have JSON, list your clients in a spreadsheet instead.
2. Import into Doodali
- In Doodali, open the business you’re bringing across, then go to Settings → Import and export and press Import clients from a CSV (or press Import on the Clients page).
- Choose the file. Doodali reads the column headings and matches them for you: company name, email, phone, address, VAT number, notes, and the contact’s name, email, phone and job title.
- Check the matches. Anything Doodali couldn’t match is set to “Skip”: choose a field for it, or leave it out.
- Press Import. Each row becomes a client with its main contact. More people at a company that’s already there are added as its contacts, and clients already in Doodali are skipped, so you can import again safely.
What comes across
| In Trello | In Doodali |
|---|---|
| A client board | Clients, one card per row |
| Project boards | Recreated in Doodali’s Projects with the same columns |
What stays behind
- Card comments and attachments stay in Trello: bring across what you still need.
